Talisker’s tasteful surroundings

If there’s one drink that can transport you to its birthplace, it’s Talisker. As the only single malt whisky distilled on the legendary Isle of Skye, Talisker’s unique smell and flavour are evocative of its rugged yet beautiful west coast surroundings.

Take a sip and savour a bold palate, smouldering peat and a faint whiff of the sea

Take a sip and savour a bold palate, smouldering peat and a faint whiff of the sea. It’s a taste that tells the story of local ingredients including water drawn from underground springs that rise from Hawk Hill and Muir of Ord malted barley, and of course the influence of Talisker’s exposed shoreline location.

For over 180 years Talisker has been made on the Isle of Skye and, as Master Distiller Mark Lochhead explains, its classic flavour is as much to do with age-old production techniques as location: “Over the years and despite the march of progress, we will always double-distil the spirit to create a rich, deep character embodying the maritime characteristics of a whisky made by the sea.”
