World Class 2017 – Here’s how to take part and enter

There are some changes to the way the World Class competition is going to be run in Europe – so we want to make sure you understand exactly what will be taking place.

We will get you thinking about how you can give your customers an outstanding experience in your bar.

World Class is the world’s biggest and most reputable cocktail competition and is the ultimate test of bartending skill. At every stage of the competition you can create cutting-edge cocktails, make great contacts and face amazing new challenges.

However, we’ve listened to your feedback and if you are based in Europe, in the 2016/2017 competition you will have one window of 14 weeks (9 November 2016 – 15 February 2017) to make your entry.

This entry period will be focusing on a single challenge, which you will hear about when you attend your country training session. There will be a free choice of which Reserve spirit you decide to use in your cocktail too. It’s a simpler approach, giving you more chance to demonstrate your creativity and talent.

There will also be more testing of intuitive skill at the semi-final stage of the competition within individual countries, before the winning contestants move on to the country final. Being fully prepared is part of any bartender’s approach, but we also want to see bartenders who can think on their feet.

In addition to the competition there’s also the training to look forward to, and this year World Class will focus on areas that can add value to your role as bartender. This will include a session called ‘Remarkable by Design’ which will get you thinking about how you can give your customers an outstanding experience in your bar.

Make contact with your local Reserve Brand Ambassador to find out when and where the training will take place in your country. If you don’t know who your Brand Ambassador is, then contact us and tell us where you are based. We’ll point you in the right direction.
